Principal's Message
Bethany Fuchs
Welcome to West Elementary School! All of Laurel’s 1st and 2nd graders attend West, so we have over 255 students this year! My name is Bethany Fuchs, and I am the proud principal. Our staff, students and community are amazing!
Our vision at West is simple but important: Our school is a place where students and staff build relationships while growing and learning in a safe, fun, and supportive community. We strive to build a community that fosters all students’ learning. To assist with our sense of community and belonging, every student and staff member was given an "I Belong..." shirt. We love wearing these shirts!
We currently have seven 1st grade classrooms and seven 2nd grade classrooms. We have outstanding specialists who lead weekly classes: Music, PE, Library, STEAM and Guidance. We also have an excellent Title I teacher to work as a team to best support students.
We have monthly positive behavior assemblies that celebrate student success and provide behavior instruction. These celebrations are a great way to honor our students and success!
